Suratul Ikhlas Activities

Hi guys, today I wanted to share with you some of the activities we did while studying Surah Ikhlas. This surah is all about Allah, so we focused on learning some of His names.

We learned about the name of Allah Al-Moosawir (The Fashioner). We made skeletons and talked about how perfect and useful our skeletal system is.

We learned about the Name of Allah Ar-Razaq (The Provider). We looked at farm animals, fruits and vegetables.

We learned about the name of Allah Al-Khaliq and Al-Bari by making a timeline. The kids really enjoyed seeing how much they've grown up.

Reading Surah Ikhlas is equal to reading 1/3 of the Quran. We did some fraction lesson and demonstartion.

We also went to the library to play and read all about farm animals. The library is a great place to find extra puzzles and toys you don't have around the house.

In Surah Ikhlas we learned 5 things about Allah. The boys made a tree craft. We wrote down on the leaves what they know about Allah.

Timeline Activity "Al-Khaliq"

Hi guys, today I wanted to share with you an activity we did while studying Surah Ikhlas. Surah Ikhlas is all about Allah so the boys and I learned the name Al-Khaliq. We worked on a timeline project.

I printed pictures of the boys showing different ages and wrote down the date on the back of each picture. We drew a timeline on the table and the boys order their pictures.

We read Perfecting the Pillars series from Ad Duha Institute. It has stories for the 99 names of Allah

The boys colored the name Al-Khaliq and then pasted their pictures into their timeline.

This is such a simple and fun activity to reinforce the name of Allah (Al-Khaliq). The children love seeing all the changes and how much they grew up. They love hearing stories about their birth.

Surah Nas Activities

Hi guys, I recently covered the tafseer of Surah Nas with my 4 and 7-year-old. Along with activities based on the Surah we studied the heart.

We learned about the whispers of Shaytaan and how it affects our hearts. You can read all about this lesson here

We made shields after learning that Allah is the only one who can protect us because he is the Lord of Mankind, The King of Mankind, and The God of Mankind. You can read all about this activity here

We also learned about the name of Allah Al-Malik. We made crowns and did some Arabic alphabet work.

We talked about what letters are in the word and had both boys practice writing them.

Each Surah we study we always do some vocabulary work. I placed the vocabulary hearts in Kinetic sand. The boys dug them out and matched the the words.

We learned about the circulatory system. I drew a diagram on our table and gave the boys cars.
They drove the car to demonstrate the way blood flows in and out of the heart.

Since the word Naas is repeated often in this Surah, the boys and I read about different Muslim children around the world. We read "Ramadan Around the World" and "Children Just Like Me." We made tacos after reading about a Mexican family.

At the end of our study, we journaled in our Quran Journal.

You can grab this full unit study which has more activities along with printables, book suggestions, and a playlist.

Surah Nas Activity "Whispers of Shaytaan"

ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ

Hi guys, today I wanted to share with you an activity we did while studying the tafseer of Surah Nas. I did this activity with my 4 and 7-year-old.

In Surah Nas Allah is teaching us how to protect ourselves from the whispers of Shaytaan and his helpers. Our heart is the most important organ in our body. We must protect it from the infection of Shaytaan. The boys colored their hearts a nice healthy red free from diseases. You can grab the heart coloring page from here.

We read these two books. We talked about some of the ways we can protect ourselves from his whispers.

Then we traced the boy's body on a large piece of butcher paper.

The boys placed their hearts inside their bodies and decorated their person. Then we added all the ways we can protect our hearts and placed them inside the body and around the heart.

We also watched this wonderful video together.
