Solar System Rock Painting

Today was one of those days my boys just did not want to get any work done. It was a bunch of whining and complaining.

So I decided to have them do a little craft and it relates to their science. It counts as school right?

I have been collecting rocks for them to do some kind of craft I pulled out our sharpies and they got painting. They used the planet cards I made for reference and drew all the planets and wrote their names on the rocks.

Regular sharpies wont work for this activity your going to need the sharpie paint markers (oil based). I purchased mine from Michaels but you can find it at Staples and Amazon.

If you do try this activity be aware that these pens do stain so cover your work area and wear something you don't mind getting stained.
