Tot-School The Very Hungry Caterpillar Felt Story Board

This felt story board has been a labor of love for me. I made one for both my older boys and they loved using it to retell the story. It is time consuming but once its done it gets a lot of use. I got the template from Lavender's Blue Design.

I used a foam board covered in black felt for my background because it makes all the colors pop. I also backed all the pieces with the black felt it just gives it a little weight. I did not want it to be flimsy because it will be handled a lot.

When I first introduced it to my toddler he wasn't that excited about it. But I know with time he will warm up to it (at least I hope). He loves the story so my plan is to use it with the story and retell it with all the felt pieces.

  1. I loved this so very much. I think one of the best way to learning is hands on. Reading and playing is so grand.I won't be surprised if your son will have this story memorized. I need to do this for my 4 year old. I know she would love it. :)
