Suratul Ikhlas Activities

Hi guys, today I wanted to share with you some of the activities we did while studying Surah Ikhlas. This surah is all about Allah, so we focused on learning some of His names. 

We learned about the name of Allah Al-Moosawir (The Fashioner). We made skeletons and talked about how perfect and useful our skeletal system is. 

We learned about the Name of Allah Ar-Razaq (The Provider). We looked at farm animals, fruits and vegetables. 

We learned about the name of Allah Al-Khaliq and Al-Bari by making a timeline. The kids really enjoyed seeing how much they've grown up. 

Reading Surah Ikhlas is equal to reading 1/3 of the Quran. We did some fraction lesson and demonstartion.

We also went to the library to play and read all about farm animals. The library is a great place to find extra puzzles and toys you don't have around the house. 

In Surah Ikhlas we learned 5 things about Allah. The boys made a tree craft. We wrote down on the leaves what they know about Allah.

Suratul-Faatiha

Hi guys, today I wanted to share with you a math lesson we did while we were studying Surah Faatiha. 

Surah Faatiha is called Sab'a Ma-thaa-neey (Seven Oft Repeated Verses). We repeat Surah Faatiha at least 17 times a day in the five daily prayers. 

First, we talked about how many daily prayers we as Muslims must pray. We used our Learning Roots Salah cards. Then, we talked about how many rak'at each prayer has. My 4 year used linking blocks to build a tower for each prayer. 

Each child made their own Montessori booklet. We used crayons and drew how the sky looks during each prayer. Then, the boys add the number rak'at using this free printable. 

My 7-year-old added all the numbers together. To add more of a challenge have your child add the Sunnah Prayers for each Salah.
