Saskatchewan Study

Hi guys, today I wanted to share with you our Saskatchewan study. We didn't do a lot of hands on activities for this province but we still learned a lot. We use the Great Canadian Adventure as our main spine.

We learned all about lines of latitude and longitude. We used a free map from Layers of Learning

We also learned about time zones and made a time zone wheel.

Next we learned about Sedimentary rocks and how they are formed. We made a sediment in a jar to learn how the different layers settle in a river/lake.

You can read all about this project in this post. Click on the image to read all about it.

We also learned about the boreal forest and migratory birds. In the spring many birds stop in this forest to lay their eggs and during migration season they stop in this forest as a resting spot. We focused on Canadian Geese.

Saskatchewan is known as the land of the living skies. We learned all about different types of clouds and thunderstorms.

We watched this video to learn all about the different types of clouds.
