Memory Making With the BFG

The BFG is one of those books that is charming, laugh out loud funny and heart warming. We enjoyed this book so much, we listened to the audio version first. My son fall in love with the book and reread it himself.

To give them a life time memory of this book we made some frobscottle you can get the recipe here.

When we poured the Ginger Ale on top of the ice cream it fizzed, which was a nice surprise.

The recipe used strawberry sorbet but the boys didn't like it so we just used ice cream in theirs.

Sorry for the picture overload but I just wanted to capture every moment and how much fun the boys had.

  3. Um, that looks delicious. I suppose I'm going to have to make my littles read BFG again just so we can make those! :) (Thanks for twisting my arm!)

  6. Last year my son enjoyed almost all the Dahl books except the BFG. (I think he was intimidated by its length.) Maybe you're activity will be the key to getting him to try again. Thanks for sharing at the #LMMLinkup.

    1. This is definitely a delicious motivation. The BFG is a little tricky because the giant talks funny some of the words were difficult for my son. We listened to the audio book first and the narrator made the story come to life for him. He enjoyed it so much he reread it himself. I don't know where your located but here in Ontario we have a library program called Overdrive where you can borrow audio books and listen to them and it deletes it from your listening device once the date expires. I believe the narrator was David Walliams. He is just wonderful we were all hooked by his narration.
