Allah created you. Allah loves you. Allah has power over everything. Allah gave us Surah al Falaq to give every one of us a way to ask Allah to protect us from scary things. When you recite Surah al Falaq, you ask Allah to protect you from things that can hurt or scare you.
In Suratul Falaq Allah mentions four things we must seek his protection from. The boys painted a night sky and decorated it with stars. After everything was dry they add the four things we seek protection from in Surah Falaq.
We learned all about what causes day and night. We used a Styrofoam ball, a dowel, and a flashlight. I explained to my 4-year-old that the Earth spins. I allowed him to play with the Earth and spin it around. We marked where we live with a pin. This is us on Earth. The flashlight is for the sun. We need the sun to keep us warm and give us light. As the Earth spins one side always faces the sun. The side facing the sun is daytime. The side facing away from the sun its nighttime. After the demonstration, we did a day and night sort and practiced the du'a before/after sleep.
